Kyrgyz Express Post First Stamp Issue, 10th Anniversary
Newsletter no. 110
On June 27, 2025 the Ministry of Digital Development and Innovative
Technologies of the Kyrgyz Republic puts into circulation a 2024 Kyrgyz Express Post souvenir sheet: "Kyrgyz
Express Post First Stamp
Issue, 10th Anniversary".
On November 18, 2014, the first postage stamps of Kyrgyz Express
Post (KEP) were issued. KEP is the second officially designated postal operator of the Kyrgyz Republic. KEP
provides a wide range of postal services to the population and holds the right to issue its own prepayment
of postage, i.e. postage stamps. All stamp issues of KEP are carried out with the approval and full support
of the Government of Kyrgyzstan.
It is worth noting that KEP stamps represent a new and unique
phenomenon in the 185-year-old history of postage stamp issuance: for the first time in the world, a second
officially designated postal operator of a country provides postal users and philatelists with its own
distinct postage stamps as valid postage.
The themes of KEP stamp issues are always related to Kyrgyzstan -
their country of origin. KEP stamps showcase the country's natural riches, promote its history as well as
its economic, social, and cultural achievements, and contribute to strengthening Kyrgyzstan’s international
cooperation with other states. At the same time, KEP also issues stamps dedicated to major global historical
events and anniversaries. KEP’s miniature artworks are distinguished by their refined design and outstanding
printing quality. Philatelists from all around the world greatly appreciate this fact and gladly acquire KEP
stamps for their collections. The company's stamps are listed in all major international philatelic
catalogues.
The anniversary souvenir sheet depicts the creative process of
designing KEP stamps and other philatelic materials.
The 10th anniversary of KEP stamp issues is a great opportunity to
reflect on the success of this remarkable project and to plan for the continued development of the company’s
philatelic activities.
