On 14 September 2026, the Kyrgyz Express Post postage stamp series "30th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations of Kyrgyzstan with UAE" is being put into circulation by the Ministry of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies of the Kyrgyz Republic pursuant to Order No. 77 dated 12 August 2026.
Diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the United Arab Emirates were established on 1 August 1996. At present, the UAE is one of Kyrgyzstan’s important economic partners in the Middle East. The Consulate General of Kyrgyzstan operates in Dubai, while the two countries also maintain embassies, ensuring a high level of bilateral contacts. Our countries are actively expanding their partnership within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission. In recent years, the Kyrgyz Republic and the UAE have developed an active political dialogue. Close trade and economic, investment and cultural partnerships are also developing, with particular attention being paid to renewable energy, the digital economy, tourism and direct air connectivity. Emirati businesses are showing interest in investment projects in Kyrgyzstan, including in the field of green energy and the construction of small hydropower plants. An example of successful cooperation is the construction of a mini hydropower plant in Jalal-Abad. In 2026, an agreement was signed with Masdar for the construction of a 200 MW solar power plant in Kyrgyzstan.
The UAE and Kyrgyzstan have a rich cultural heritage and centuries-old traditions in various spheres of life. One such ancient tradition that unites our peoples is hunting with birds of prey. In Kyrgyzstan, this traditional form of hunting is known as Salbuurun. The KEP stamps feature this very ancient tradition: a Kyrgyz hunter is depicted with his golden eagle, while an Arab hunter is shown with a falcon. The central labels of the minisheet also feature a hunting golden eagle and a falcon. The First Day Cover depicts a falcon wearing a hood, a traditional piece of falconry equipment that limits the bird’s field of vision and helps it remain calm. It should be noted that falconry is included on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, with both Kyrgyzstan and the UAE having actively supported the relevant initiative at the time.

KEP hopes that this stamp issue will contribute to further strengthening the friendship and fruitful cooperation between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and the UAE.
For this series, two postcards are also issued for the production of two maximum cards.
